We cannot deny that emotions exist, and yet some people, because of the negative experiences they have had with their emotions, go to the extreme and try to become emotionless.
They try to just quit feeling anything. I see this happen many times with pastors who have got close to someone in their church and been hurt because that person left them or turned on them, which is very common.
I would say that a large percentage of ministers, because of such negative emotional experiences, simply withdraw and never get close to anyone again. They don’t develop close friendships because they fear of being hurt. They may avoid some hurts but they also miss out on one of God’s greatest blessings.
